So, I have like a million questions...
HOW CAN I BOOK MY SHOOT?
Everything you need to know about how to book your shoot regarding pricing and details can be found on this site. Browse through to look at various images and read through what each session offers. Once you decide, you will need to contact me to choose a date for your session. I'll email you a booking proposal and contract, which you may sign digitally. (Seniors and teens, your parents need to sign) Your session deposit may then be paid for online or by mailing a check.
HOW DO CUSTOM ANNOUNCEMENTS/INVITATIONS WORK?
What's great about custom announcements is that you have two sides to work with, which means that there is no limit to the number of photos from your session that you may include! If you are interested in having custom announcements or invitations designed, we will discuss the design and look at different ideas during your design consultation. If you are ordering announcements, your order will be placed at the same time as the rest of your order. If you are ordering invitations, (graduation party invitations for example) invitations and thank you cards will be designed during your design consultation and the order will be held until you have the exact information for the date of your party. All graduation invitations will be ordered by the end of April.
DO WE SHOOT INDOORS OR OUTDOORS?
When the weather is nice, I totally prefer to shoot outdoors, but I do have a small studio space in my home if you would like a studio look. There is just something about natural light that I love and I have become known for my lush, backlit, sun-filled photos. The hours just before sunset and just after sunrise are, for an artist, the most amazing time of day. As the sun rises and falls, we are able to create so many different looks just by the way light sunlight changes. Being on location gives us the option to take full advantage of that luscious light and our surroundings.
WHERE WILL THE SHOOT BE?
This depends on the type of session you choose. You may choose to stay local: Ashland, Medway, Milford, Holliston, Hopedale, Hopkinton, Upton (within 25 miles of Milford, Massachusetts). Maybe you want something more. You want more than just your small town look. You love the city lights of Boston or the sandy beaches of Newport or Cape Cod; these locations are part of you - and being there is the only way to tell your story. Or maybe, just maybe, you want your senior photoshoot to be beyond epic. Take the opportunity to go somewhere you've been dreaming about and have your senior photos taken while you are there. Take a friend and make it the trip of a lifetime! It really is all up to you. I love finding new places to shoot because I don't want everyones photos to look the same, so I am always open to suggestions for fun and creative locations.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
That's easy, we reschedule. I keep a very limited shooting schedule so that I may account for rainy days.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Wherever we go, you've got to stay hydrated. So, plan on bringing some water as well as a few snacks that aren't too messy. Modeling is a hard job! Make sure that ALL OF YOUR OUTFITS ARE ON HANGERS! Yes, I Bolded that. It's that important. There's nothing worse that pulling a bunch of crumply shirts with a bunch of wrinkles out of your bag to wear. Hangers are our friends!! It helps to keep your outfits and accessories together; bring jewelry in smaller bags, even zip-lock bags and clip them to the hanger of the outfit they go with so they don't get lost in the mix.
WHO CAN COME WITH ME?
First and foremost, a parent or guardian MUST be with you. We will try to schedule your session with enough time in advance to make sure that one of them can be there. You both will follow or meet me at the location. It can actually be a great time to bond! Oftentimes parents and seniors will do something together after the shoot like go out and have a nice dinner, especially after Wanderlust shoots on the Cape or in Newport! Hey when you're all dressed up and pretty, what better way to cap off the evening and make the best use of that gorgeous hair and makeup?! If you feel uncomfortable having Mom or Dad there, don't worry they can hang out in the car and read a book, or, I may just give them a job. You never know.
I'M A GUY, I DON'T NEED MAKEUP.
you don’t have to have your hair and makeup done of course; however, some guys do want their hair styled for senior photos, or even a haircut beforehand (at least a few days before so that it has a little time to grow out if it's too short. Additionally, if you have any blemishes, dark eye circle OR if you're an athlete, you may have a bruise that needs some covering up, my makeup artist, Claudia, can fix all of that. If you do not want to go to her, I will be editing (contouring and highlighting) thereafter to make sure that your face is not washed out from the changing light, as well as fixing any blemishes and things.
CAN I JUST DO MY OWN MAKEUP, OR HAVE SOMEONE I KNOW DO IT? THEN JUST TAKE THAT MUCH OFF MY SESSION FEE.
If you are going for just the basic session, hair + makeup is not included in the fee and you are therefore able to do your own or have someone you know do it for you. For any session other than the basic session, again, you are not required to have my team style your look; however, the price of the session does remain the same. Because I have worked with my team of stylists for a few years now, they know exactly what I need from them, to make you look and feel amazing on the day of your shoot. If you choose to apply your own makeup and coif your own hair, I almost always find myself doing extra touching-up, contouring and editing after the shoot. Not because you or someone else did a bad job, but only because my team knows exactly how to prepare your look for my shooting style. The same applies for the guys; you don’t have to have your hair and makeup done (although, some of my guys like getting their hair styled!), but I will be editing thereafter to make sure that your face is not washed out from the changing light, as well as fixing any blemishes and things.
CAN SOMEONE ELSE TAKE PICTURES OF ME AT THE SAME TIME?
Snapchat, YES. Instagram, YES! Your own personal camera, NO. No additional cameras, other than mobile devices are prohibited on shoots due to copyrights. Poses and shots that are used for copyrighted images may not be photographed. #SELFIES are great! Snap a few to remember the experience, but for the most part, it is important that you enjoy your experience and let me take care of your selfie. ;-)
WHAT IF I WANT TO USE IMAGES FROM MY SESSION IN MY YEARBOOK?
Images purchased can be provided for yearbook use upon payment of full balance. Please choose those images at your ordering session.
