Media Day

First, I want to thank you for your interest in JHP Sports, by Jennifer Helmka. Over the past nine years, I have built a unique sports team experience based on what I saw lacking with conventional sports photos: PASSION! As a former athlete and now Mom to three athletes from kindergarten to college-age, I have found that conventional photos just do not portray the passion, the grit, the emotion, the strength that these athletes possess. I’ve made it my mission to photograph them in a way that reflects the level of dedication that is expected of them.

Not only that , but I believe that team media day shouldn’t be something that Athletic Directors and Coaches should have to handhold parents through. JHP will take care of the scheduling, parent communication and details on “how to prepare”. Once your media day is booked, all you will need to do is share the info provided.

Below is an overview of the JHP Team Media Day Experience. Our goal is to make every single athlete look and feel like a professional. This is something I am passionate about and it shows in every image I take. SCHOOL/ORGANIZATION

How Does it Work?

1. Prior to media day, we will decide the time and location. Afternoon/evening light is preferred for outdoor shots, but are completely flexible to the team/organization’s needs. We also may want to schedule a rain date in the event of severely inclement weather. (if outdoors) The goal will be to photograph teams 2-3 weeks prior to the season to ensure all banners are up for the first home game. All parents will decide on Option 1 or 2 on our website. A link will be sent to the parent/team organizer prior to Media Day.

2. We start Media Day by taking individual banner photos, senior banner photos, and headshots indoors. These photos will be taken on a solid color background. JHP will decide the poses for these images with the exception of senior banners. These images will be included in the gallery for anyone that chooses Option 1 or 2.

3. After all Option 1 photos have been taken, we begin the fun and creative part of media day. Each athlete who has paid for Option 2 will be given 3 poses of their choice in addition to the images that I have already taken. These photos are more creative and will feature your stadium, gym or the use of in camera lighting effects. Poses are completely up to the athlete and may be individual or buddy poses. (Coaches join in on the fun as well!)

4. Within two weeks, all photos will be delivered through an online gallery to the team organizer and registered parents/athletes. Vinyl banners delivered within one week of gallery delivery/approval.

Media Day Options

Individual Option 1 — $25

You just want to make sure your athlete is in the team photo or gets their photo for their banner. This one is just for you. This option gives parents the digital file of their athlete as well as the team banner, senior banner and any additional poses shot on the solid background.

Individual Option 2 — $75

In addition to everything offered in option 1, option 2 athletes will be given 3 poses of their choice around the stadium, field, gym or studio. Poses are completely up to the athlete and may be buddy or individual poses. These digital files will be delivered in the same gallery with print release. JHP reserves the right to deem “ideas” inappropriate for school usage.
